About us

Slezská Diakonie is a non-governmental non-profit organization providing services in social field. Our activities are based on practical realization of biblical principles of love and service to needy people and people in distress. Slezská Diakonie focuses on people with disabilities, elderly people, homeless people and all people who got into some kind of difficulties.

Slezská Diakonie has been working in the Moravian-Silesian region since 1990 as a successor to former charitable activities of the Silesian Evangelical Church of Augsburg Confession launched at the early twentieth century. In 2005, Slezská Diakonie extended its services into the South Moravian region and, later on, into the Olomouc region as well. Nowadays, Slezská Diakonie runs more than sixty centres. As they are not independent legal entities, they are governed by the headquarters of Slezská Diakonie in the town of Český Těšín.
